What this is
These 72 Laws are the site owner's own framework. They are not scripture, not part of Jewish or Christian tradition, and not scientific laws. They are a contemplative set: short statements to read slowly, one at a time, and test against your own life.
Each Law is paired with one of the 72 Names. The pairing is the owner's own design, a way of placing a life principle next to each position in the traditional list. It is a symbolic reading (Column C), not a claim about what the Names meant in their original setting.
Nothing on this page is medical, psychological or financial advice, and none of these statements promises an outcome.
Debts and echoes
Many of these Laws gather older wisdom, and we credit it:
- Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender (Laws 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, 12) follow the Hermetic principles set out in The Kybalion (1908), published under the name "Three Initiates."
- "As above, so below" (Law 3) goes back to the medieval Hermetic text known as the Emerald Tablet.
- Attraction and Affinity (Laws 4 and 61) draw on the New Thought movement of the 19th and 20th centuries.
- Law 9 echoes Shakespeare's Hamlet (Act 2, Scene 2): "there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
- Law 23 echoes the American speaker Earl Nightingale, who defined success as "the progressive realization of a worthy ideal."
- Law 56 echoes the Latin proverb "fortune favors the bold."
- Law 62 echoes the saying "knowledge is power," usually credited to Francis Bacon.
